Dear KASA Members,

Appointment of New KASA President & Call for Executive Positions

Warm greetings from the Katz African Student Association (KASA). We trust this message finds you well.

During the past week, a series of meetings were held between KASA alumni representatives and the Katz School Student Life Office. These discussions were productive and further enriched by the strong support and recommendations of the Student Life Coordinator, Ms. Andrea Rose-Sternbeg.

As you may recall, where we stood last time was based on the Call for Nominations that was circulated earlier through the KASA Constitutional Executive Nomination Form available here https://shorturl.at/GStMe. Unfortunately, no responses were received to that nomination process.

In order to ensure continuity of leadership and to keep the Association moving forward, a collective decision was made, with input from alumni and Student Life - to proceed with a direct appointment.

New Appointment

Effective August 14, 2025, Mr. Emmanuel Kasigazi has been appointed as the President of the Katz African Student Association (KASA). Mr. Kasigazi will lead KASA into its next chapter, working with both students and administration to promote African culture, leadership, and collaboration within the Katz School community.

Formation of Executive Team

President Kasigazi will be supported by a team of brilliant and competent executives. Elections and appointments for the following positions will soon take place:

1. Vice President
2. General Secretary
3. Financial Secretary
4. Social Media Director
5. Student Liaison

Call to Members

Although no nominations were received previously, KASA leadership is once again extending the opportunity. Interested members are encouraged to apply for any of the above roles by sending:

1. An email stating the position of interest
2. A copy of your current resume
